Following on the heels of the hotly-anticipated Celebrity Edge, Celebrity Cruises has another innovative new ship joining the fleet in May 2019. The next exciting addition Celebrity’s portfolio will be the all-suite Celebrity Flora: built specifically for the Galapagos Islands, this ship combines modern luxury with sustainability and design.
With a guest to crew ratio of almost 1:1, the largest accommodations in the Galapagos and all-inclusive packages, expeditions aboard Celebrity Flora promise to be a truly luxury experience. Outward-facing design makes the destination the centre of attention, creating a connection between guests, the ocean and the stunning islands. The aim is to virtually erase the boundaries between the ship and the destination, allowing guests to feel truly immersed in the Galapagos Islands.
The heralded infinite balconies instituted on Celebrity Edge will also be found on Celebrity Flora, 360-degree views can be found in The Vista and there is floor-to-ceiling glass in The Observatory. The spacious Seaside Restaurant’s floor-to-ceiling windows provide stunning views with breakfast, lunch and dinner, while the outdoor Ocean Grill serves up breath-taking panoramic vistas during the day and magnificent sparkling skies at night.
Thanks to the addition of pioneering sustainable design, this is luxury cruising with a conscience: anchor-less technology reduces the environmental impact on the sea floor, in-room water filtration systems minimise the need for plastic bottles, and increased energy efficiency means a 15% reduction in fuel consumption and air emissions. These are just some of the elements that make Celebrity Flora the most sustainable and efficient ship operating in this precious part of the world.
Celebrity Flora sets sail in spring 2019 with weekly seven-night cruises navigating both the inner and outer Galápagos Islands. Expert naturalist presentations and educational research-based programming will give guests the chance to learn more about the unique wildlife of this eco-rich region. Itineraries can be combined with land tours in Ecuador and Peru allowing guests to explore the Inca Trail.
