Kuoni’s Top Five Tours for 2017

According to Kuoni’s latest trends report, touring holidays are proving increasingly popular as demand continues to rise year on year. Escorted tours are a fantastic way to explore a country that you may not be confident travelling around independently. Often you will see more on a tour than if you were travelling on your own as expert organisation allows for unique opportunities to get beneath the skin of a destination, with a focus on authentic experiences.

Kuoni’s report found that people are more attracted to smaller group tours with benefits that include visits to sights that aren’t suitable for larger groups and a more personalised service from local guides. Kuoni’s small group tours have a maximum capacity of 18 people, meaning that guests get a more intimate experience rather than feeling like just the next piece of baggage on the conveyor belt.

Kuoni’s top tours:

1 – India

2017 marks the 70 years of Indian independence. Celebrate this landmark anniversary by combining Kuoni’s Taj Tour with a beach stay in Goa or Kerala or a trip to see tigers on safari in the Ranthambore National Park for the complete Indian experience.

On the Jewels of Northern India tour guests are able to experience renowned Rajput hospitality as they dine with a member of Udaipur’s royal family – a truly exceptional experience.

2 – Costa Rica

Eco-conscious travellers will enjoy learning how plants are grown in Costa Rica without causing a negative impact on local wildlife. Guests will also get to plant pineapple seedlings as part of a visit to family run eco-plantation, Finca Sura.

3 – Thailand

Sticking with the agricultural theme, the Thailand Explore tour includes the chance to find out more about the rural rice-planting industry and an opportunity to help plough fields with water buffalo during a visit to Sukhothai Historical Park.

4 – Japan

Famously popular for beautiful sights of abundant cherry blossom in Spring, Japan is also breathtaking in the Winter. On Kuoni’s new Winter Highlights of Japan tour you can see snow-covered ancient temples and mountain scenery bathed in white and enjoy activities such as snowshoeing in Yudanka Onses and watching the famous Japanese Snow Monkey Macaques bathe in the hot springs at the Jigokudani Monkey Park.

5 – South Korea

Offering similar experiences to Japan but with fewer crowds and better value, South Korea has Unesco World Heritage Sites, good food and stunning scenery to boot. Kuoni’s new 2017 tour features traditional Korean cooking classes and a visit to one of Seoul’s famous tea houses.
