Earlier this week, Kuoni launched their Worldwide Travel Report for 2019, giving us a fascinating insight into how we’re going to be planning, experiencing and sharing our adventures, as well as what destinations are going to be trending this year.
While Kuoni’s top ten destinations haven’t seen much change since last year (perennial favourites the Maldives, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Mauritius, USA, Bali, Italy, India, Vietnam & South Africa all making the cut), there are some exciting spots on the rise…
For the culture vultures…
Japan – With the Rugby World Cup coming up this year, Japan is firmly on our travel radar!
Israel – Kuoni is launching its first ever dedicated Israel programme with 22 hotels around the historic country.
Greece – Not just about sunshine, Greece’s islands and mainland destinations are full of ancient treasures and culinary gems.
For the sun worshipers…
Ajman – With all the attractions of UAE megastar Dubai but without the hefty price tag, it’s no wonder this newcomer is on the up!
Egypt – Whether you want to catch some rays at the beach or sun yourself on deck during a Nile river cruise, Egypt is bouncing back.
Turkey – Also returning to form is Turkey, whose reliable sunshine makes it an ideal choice for short-haul holidays.
For the city slickers…
Singapore – The spotlight is firmly set on Singapore this year as the multi-cultural city state celebrates its 200th anniversary.
Western Australia – With Qantas’ new non-stop route from the UK to Australia landing in WA, gateway city Perth is great value compared to Sydney.
For the intrepid adventurers…
East Africa – Spectacular national parks, Big Five safaris, the wildebeest migration and fantastic luxury camps are all part of the draw for Kenya and Tanzania.
Latin America – Whether you want to hike to Machu Picchu, explore Ecuador or ramble through Mayan ruins in Mexico, Latin America is a hot ticket for 2019.
Stay tuned in the coming weeks for more travel tips for 2019 as we delve into the Kuoni report and take a look at some of the best ways to see the world and what we want to gain from our global explorations.
